JOSEPH CONTADINO

Mr. Contadino has been involved in the master planned community development and home building business since 1971. After a career in Public Accounting, as a CPA, he became the Chief Financial Officer of Continental Homes in 1971. After being appointed President of Continental Homes in 1976, he directed its growth to become the largest home builder in the Phoenix area by 1978, constructing more than 1,000 homes per year.
In 1980, he formed Coventry Homes entities, including Fairmount Mortgage, and in 1985, acquired Universal Homes from the Anderson Family. At that time, these entities were producing a variety of new home products in both Arizona and Colorado and providing Mortgage loan originations for all of the Company’s home buyers.
In 1990, Mr. Contadino sold the assets of the Coventry entities, excluding Universal Homes, to the Del Webb Corporation, and with his management staff, formed the basis of Del Webb’s entry into the conventional home building business. In 1995, Mr. Contadino was named Executive Vice President of Del Webb with responsibilities for all community developments plus its mortgage banking operations. Under the Del Webb umbrella, Coventry Homes expanded from Phoenix to Tucson and Cottonwood, Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, and a number of southern California markets that stretched from San Diego County to Orange and Ventura Counties.
In January 1998, Mr. Contadino resigned his position at Del Webb and reopened Universal Homes, which is currently pursuing new home construction at the Granville Master Planned Community in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
